We recently made a donation of redwood lumber cut to size, to help build8 garden beds for The Gardens Project, a wonderful nonprofit serving Mendocino and Lakecounty. These garden beds will be used to develop a garden supporting food security tofarmworkers and their families living in the Brush Meadows apartments in Ukiah,CA.
The Gardens Project of NorthCoast Opportunities seeks to relieve hunger and inadequate nutrition throughout Mendocinoand Lake Counties by creating access to community-based food production and local,nutritious food. We work with local government and private landowners to lease underutilizedland around low-income neighborhoods for the creation of new communitygardens.
